Poker
A standard pack of 52 cards is used, sometimes with one or two jokers. Poker is a single pack game, but today virtually all games played in clubs and among top players use two contrasting colored packs to speed up play. While one pack is dealt, the other is mixed and prepared for the next deal. The procedure for two packs is as follows: when dealing, the previous dealer collects all the cards in the deck, shuffles them and turns them counterclockwise.
When it is time for the next deal, the shuffled deck is passed to the next dealer. In many games where two packs are used, the dealer's left opponent cuts the pack instead of his right opponent. It is customary in clubs to change cards frequently and allow any player to request new cards at any time. When new cards are introduced, both packs are replaced and the seal and cellophane wrap on the new decks must be broken in front of all players.
